Top local employers attended the job fair to recruit for open positions varying from entry level to Management. Over 250 career seekers attended in search of interview opportunities.

Employers at the event have reported many interviews were scheduled for career seekers that attended this event and hires were made.

The Nationwidejobfairs.com Job Fair is open Thursday from 1:00 pm- 4:00 pm and will feature many small and large companies as well as Fortune 500 companies looking for hourly, salary and part-time employees.

Thurston County business events

State Employment Security department releases July unemployment data for Thurston and Pierce counties. In June, Thurston County had a jobless rate of 8.5 percent and Pierce County's was 10 percent. Satewide unemployment was 9.3 percent in July.

Wednesday: A job fair is set for 1 to 4 p.m. at the Ramada Hotel in Olympia. The event is sponsored by Verizon Wireless and there will be 12 companies in attendance.

The following are some of the companies that plan to attend: Verizon Wireless, Aflac, Waddell & Reed, Highline School District, Country Financial, ACS/Xerox, the F.B.I., Victoria's Secret, Saint Martin's University.

Ramada Olympia is at 4520 Martin Way E.

HOUSTON—If you’re looking for work, there are two job fairs scheduled to take place in Houston Tuesday.

First, nationwidejobfairs.com is hosting a career fair at a Galleria-area Holiday Inn from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

That fair will feature more than 15 employers, including Verizon, Sherwin Williams, Pep Boys, the Dallas Police Department and Prudential.

The hotel is located at 3131 Loop South.

The event itself and parking will be free of charge, officials said.

Later in the day, Waste Management will host a job fair at their Downtown Houston office, located at 1021 Main Street.

The Houston-based company is looking to fill 150 technology positions.

That job fair will take place from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Nationwide Job Fairs is holding a job fair Thursday in Charlotte from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Ramada Hotel, located at 212 West Woodlawn Road.

Officials say Time Warner, Verizon Wireless, GE and Sherwin Williams are among the companies scheduled to attend the job fair.

FBI hiring for 3,450 jobs nationwide

The FBI is looking to hire 3,450 people this year.

The FBI hopes to fill 900 Special Agent positions and 2,550 non-Agent positions, including: intelligence analysts, cyber experts, scientists, accountants, translators and engineers.

Many of the positions will require people to relocate because the FBI in St. Louis is only looking to fill two jobs. Most of the jobs are in Washington D.C.

The FBI said it is hiring so many positions because of retirement and more jobs have been created since 911.

The FBI will be at the job fair at the Lodge Hotel and Banquet Center at 3551 Pennridge Drive in Bridgeton, Missouri from 1:00 p.m to 5:00 p.m. Tuesday.

People interested in employment with the FBI can also attend an informational session on the last Thursday of every month. The first session will be January 28. In November, the session will be held on the third Thursday. There will not be a session in December. The sessions will be at Harris Stowe State College in the Southwestern Bell Library in the Telecommunity Room at 3026 Laclede Ave. in St. Louis. The sessions will begin at 3:00 p.m. and will last until all questions are answered.

The sessions are for informational purposes only. Resumes can be brought in for review. Business attire is recommended.
